Ottawa / Gatineau Kitchen & Bathroom Designers
The process we have developed over the years allows a close working relationship with our clientele.
Initial consultation
We offer a free of charge consultation at our mini showroom / office. Our Client meets with us for us to get an idea of the scope of the project, to go over an initial layout, and so we can provide a rough estimate of the cost of the job.
When the client is ready to proceed, we discuss a retainer agreement and the client pays the required fee for us to begin our detailed work. The project is now officially underway.
Measurements are taken
For a renovation, we will meet you at your home to take detailed measurements and review in details your requirements. For a new construction we will require dimensioned plans and once framing is up the jobsite will be measured. We also assist with positioning of electrical and plumbing fixtures placements.
Drafting
Based on the measurements, our CAD specialists draft the space and the design process gets underway.
Design meetings
Design meetings will take place with a designer and/or design associate in our office and sometimes at the Client's home. This process may take a few days depending on schedule availability and how quickly design decisions are reached. We will go over the plans and complete the selection of finishes, doors style, glass door style, mullion style, decorative mouldings, decorative hardware and countertops.
As part of our services we will assist you in recommending appliances and other materials such as flooring, undercabinet lighting, hardware, and plumbing. After each meeting, drawings are revised to reflect the decisions about your project.
Cabinets & Countertop contract
Once the design is agreed upon, the client signs a contract for cabinetry and pays the 50% cabinet deposit. The remainder 50% is required when you are notified that your order is ready for delivery to the job site. The client receives a copy of the plans and the design associate processes the cabinetry order. If you need a copy of the plans prior to placing your cabinet order, an additional deposit will be required. For countertops, a 50% deposit will be required and the remainder 50% is required at check measure.
Purchasing other materials
Two weeks after your cabinet order has been processed, we will help finalize your order for other materials, such as tiles, lighting, tiling, hardware, and plumbing supplies. We do not charge an additional fee or an hourly rate for this service, but if we spend time helping you make your selections, we expect you to purchase them through us. We cannot be held responsible for any products that you purchase on your own, and it is essential that you inform us of any purchases you make that could affect the design of your kitchen. A 50% deposit will be required and the remainder 50% is required when you are notified that your order is ready for delivery.
Installation Phase
Construction begins
Until now your project has been handled by Faubert Interiors. When demolition begins, however, your contractor will take over as project leader. We will be working with him to coordinate our installation by our own installers and will continue to be available, of course, to answer any questions he may have.
Site visits
Please be assured that the designer and/or design associates will visit the job site as needed or requested to clarify any questions or concerns that may arise during the installation phase.
